Instructions: To make aval upma recipe, first wash the poha thoroughly. Take out all the water from the poha. Poha should neither be too soft nor too hard. Keep it aside. Now heat oil in a pan. Add asafoetida, rye, cumin, urad dal and cook till the dal turns golden brown. Now add curry leaves, onion, green chillies, ginger and cook till the onion becomes soft. After the onion becomes soft, add turmeric powder, poha and mix it well. Cover the pan and let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Turn off the gas and garnish with peanuts and green coriander. Serve.
