Instructions: To make the Karamani Sundal recipe, first of all, we will put the cowpea in a pan and bake it for 2 to 3 minutes. Now pour it in water and soak it for 3 to 4 hours. Now take out the water from it and put cowpea in the pressure cooker. Add water as per the usage and cook it till it reaches 5 cities. Allow the pressure to drain on its own. After the pressure comes out, open the cooker and remove the cowpea separately and keep it aside. Let cool. Now heat oil in a pan. Add the mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves, dry red chillies, asafoetida and cook till the dal turns light golden brown. Now add cowpea, turmeric powder and mix well. After 1 minute, add coconut, cumin powder, salt and cook for 1 minute. Turn off the flame and serve.
