Ingredients: 2 cups Kerala Matta Rice – soaked in water for 30 minutes, 1 cup green peas, 2 cardamom, 1 inch lentil sugar, 1 bay leaf, 2 teaspoons cumin seeds, salt – as per taste, 1 teaspoon sugar – optional, ghee – as per use

Instructions: To make Matta Rice Pea Casserole, first of all, add Matta Rice in a pressure cooker with 4 cups of water. Cook till 6 city comes and let the pressure drain. Open the cooker, take out the rice and keep it aside to cool for 15 minutes. Now heat ghee in a pan. Add cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, cumin seeds and let it cook for 20 seconds. Now add peas and cook for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, add rice, salt and sugar to it. Mix well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve the Matta Rice Matar Pulao for dinner along with mixed vegetable Kurma and boondi raita.
